In 2017 UWA will adopt a new, simpler approach to our personal development review process.
'Staff Appraisal' (SA) is an improved improved process designed to better support staff development and performance, and to align these with the University’s Strategic Plan.
- A new user-friendly platform
- All Staff Appraisals will be completed annually between 1 October and 30 November
When the new SA will be rolled out
To minimise disruption the shift to our new system will be a gradual process in 2017. Senior Managers will be the first to use the system in March, with the aim to have all employees complete their annual appraisal by October/November 2017. From 2018 onwards, all employees will undertake an annual appraisal during October/November.
Training on how to deliver feedback and how to develop SMARTS objectives is available for all staff who would like to participate. Managers conducting appraisals should have the skills to help appraisees set objectives aligned to the UWA strategy and to provide performance feedback. To support this, appraisers are required to attend both of these two-hour workshops:
Accessing previous Personal Development Reviews
The old PDR system will remain live until 31 December 2017, but the site will be read-only.
